Beautiful weather, classic snacks and legendary venues - what else would an Three Lions follower desire?

Well, perhaps an Ashes series in Australia where they still have a chance to win back the Ashes following the initial matches.

Unfortunately, this scenario is off the table on this occasion, however, after Australia's crushing 82-run win in Adelaide left the home side with a 3-0 lead for the fourth consecutive series on Australian grounds.

The loyal traveling fans, the organized fan base, have a large group flying out for the concluding fixtures in New South Wales and Victoria.

There are also travel parties who will spend the Christmas period down under, as well as relatives and companions planning a dream holiday.

Fans with Booked Tickets

A group of four supporters are four such fans.

The four siblings had their flights and tickets arranged for the fourth and fifth Tests "well ahead of time", hoping to witness a rare England series success.

From afar, they've seen Australia outplay the visitors in just 11 days from their family home in the north of England.

"Everyone at work has been teasing me about it being over for the last two weeks," stated Sam Ryding.

"The hope was that we would have the series on the line by the time we arrived."

Lowered Expectations

There was plenty of positivity about England's chances of securing a first win in 15 years for a series win in Australia prior to the first ball.

Yet now they are staring down the barrel of continuing a barren spell in the country to 19 matches when the Boxing Day Test begins in Melbourne on Thursday, 25 December.

The tourists - and their fans - will be keen to prevent a clean sweep.

One sibling noted the "excitement and fun" of head coach Brendon McCullum's 'Bazball' in recent years had "reinvigorated" the five-day game for England fans.

Yet the fans said they had low expectations for the remaining matches - and all they are hoping for from the players is "some resilience".

"All analysts references this, but it all is about fortitude. 'This style has been elevated to a term now that is just, like, impractical batting," stated Rory Ryding.

"Over the course of five days, you should hunker down. Playing at deliveries 'outside the line has never been in the fundamentals, and that is mainly the fault the batting lineup."

The Remaining Matches

Prompted about he believed England will win a match in the current series, came the reply: "It looks like the hosts are a stronger side currently."

"Necessarily, there must be more than one player that makes a significant contribution and turns the game."

Despite the scoreline, the group remains anticipating the trip.

"We are going to have a fantastic experience nonetheless," said Katie. "We must adopt that mindset."

"Of course, it's unfortunate we don't have more to play for, but we have invested a significant amount by now."

"We plan to savor celebrating the holidays overseas. It is also our first experience traveling during the festive period."

A teacher, Katie is intent on maximizing the long-haul travel as part of her seasonal break.

"As a backup plan, I can play golf to rely on," she added.
